At AFI Training (formerly UTN Training), we’re committed to delivering first-class learning and training to industry, construction, and maintenance, with a long-standing history in Powered Access. We provide accredited IPAF training and PASMA Working at Height training from our 17 dedicated training centres throughout the UK or, in some instances, on suitable customer premises. As one of the UK's leading providers of powered access training, we train more than 30,000 people each year. These courses empower individuals to work safely and efficiently at height.

Our History

Since our founding in 1998, AFI Training has been on a journey of growth and innovation. Initially established to meet the increasing demand for safety and operational training, we have evolved alongside the powered access industry. Over the years, our portfolio has expanded to focus on high-demand courses. We now focus on delivering specialised operative-level and management-level accredited training for IPAF and PASMA.

Our MEWP Training Courses

IPAF Accredited Training

We are accredited by the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) to provide training courses to promote the safe and effective use of powered access equipment. We offer comprehensive training options, including classroom sessions and e-learning modules, covering various types of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs), such as scissor lifts and boom lifts. Successful delegates receive the IPAF PAL Card, a recognised certification in the industry.

Our most popular IPAF training courses include:

• IPAF Operator 3a 3b: A mix of theory and practical training designed to enable operators to manoeuvre, drive, and position MEWPs safely and proficiently.

• IPAF PAL Plus: An optional, one-day course for trained IPAF operators working in high-risk or challenging environments.

PASMA Accredited Training

As an accredited PASMA (Prefabricated Access Suppliers and Manufacturers Association) training provider, we focus on the safe use of mobile access towers. Our courses are designed for personnel responsible for assembling, dismantling, moving, and inspecting mobile access towers, ensuring compliance with the Work at Height Regulations 2005.

Our PASMA courses include:

• PASMA Towers for Users: Aimed at individuals who will be responsible for assembling, dismantling, moving, and inspecting mobile access towers.

• PASMA Combined Low Level and Standard Towers: This course covers both low-level access units and standard mobile access towers, providing a comprehensive understanding of working at various heights.
